The College Football Playoff race is heating up as the season hits the late-October grind, and the SEC still features a boatload of programs that could qualify for the postseason bracket.
With undefeated Texas A&M leading a pack of six teams with one loss and trio of squads with two, over half the conference still believes it has a shot at reaching the CFP following Week 8’s action.
That means that there is still plenty to sort through, and college football analysts across the country are attempting to do just that.
SEC Network host Peter Burns took a stab at sifting through the mess, and he opted to place the SEC’s teams into tiers when it came to their CFP chances. Those tiers were: ‘Playoff Bound’, ‘Playoffish’, ‘I mean technically alive’, and ‘Done.’
Playoff Bound:
Alabama (6-1) Texas A&M (7-0) Georgia (6-1, during the 2nd half)Playoffish:
Ole Miss (6-1) Missouri (6-1) Vanderbilt (6-1)I mean technically alive:
