Week 8 was an exciting one around the college football world, and particularly within the SEC ranks. We had the Alabama Crimson Tide winning their fourth-straight game against a ranked foe (this time against rival Tennessee). We had Georgia coming from behind (yet again) to take down a feisty Ole Miss squad.
We had Auburn self-destructing yet again in a home loss to Mizzou. We had Florida fans booing Billy Napier despite a narrow win over Mississippi State.
All told, it was an impactful weekend in the SEC and we’ll see what sort of fallout comes in terms of coaching carousel moves.
But for now, we’ll take a look at the ESPN Football Power Index. Ohio State maintained its No. 1 overall spot. At No. 2 is Oregon. The Ducks jumped 3 spots after a dominant win at Rutgers. Despite the win over Tennessee, though, Alabama remains rooted in the No. 3 spot.
