Emily Deschanel, 49, is getting candid about her dynamic with her sister and fellow actress Zooey Deschanel, 45.
During the October 14 episode of actor Michael Rosenbaum's podcast, Inside of You, Emily shared that she is "very good friends with [her] sister." She clarified that it has not always been the case.
"We have our times for sure. I mean, like, it's a complicated thing to be sisters. But we're definitely very close. I mean, we fought a lot as kids," said Emily to Rosenbaum.
She then explained that she and Zooey "would physically fight each other" during their childhood.
"There's nobody who would push my buttons more. I'm sure I push her buttons more than anybody else," said Emily in the podcast interview.
She then shared that once she "went to college," her bond with Zooey strengthened.
"I think we had an appreciation for each other because like the distance, you know, helped," said Emily.
In addition, she said that her children, Henry, 14, and Calvin, 10, whom she shares with actor David Hornsby, have a good relationship with Zooey's children, Elsie, 10, and Charlie, 8, fathered by her ex-husband, Jacob Pechenik.
