It was a big night for Drew Barrymore and her talk show at the Daytime Emmy Awards.
Barrymore was unable to attend the event in Pasadena, California. However, that didn't stop her from celebrating a couple of wins for The Drew Barrymore Show.

While the talk show lost to Live With Kelly and Mark in the Outstanding Daytime Talk Series category, Barrymore won for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host.
The Drew Barrymore Show also took home the honors for Outstanding Directing Team for a Multiple Camera Daytime Non-Fiction Program and Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup. Since Barrymore couldn’t attend the actual ceremony, she showed her appreciation for the wins in a different way.
Drew Barrymore Shares Message After Daytime Emmy Wins
In an Instagram note, Barrymore shared a picture of her on the set of her talk show, along with a special throwback video. The clip featured a snippet of young Barrymore crying as she accepted the Young Artist Award for her role as Gertie in E.T.
“Thank you for this award. I appreciate it very much,” she said in the video.
Barrymore had plenty more to say in her caption, but admitted the footage pretty much summed up how she felt about the Daytime Emmy wins.
“I am so grateful for the Daytime Emmy Award for Daytime Talk Series Host. Thank you to every single amazing person that makes @thedrewbarrymoreshow possible. I love each and every one of you so much. This is not my show. This is our show. To our amazing Directing Team, and Hair and Makeup Teams… congrats on your much deserved #DaytimeEmmy’s Awards! Fans Gushed Over Drew Barrymore And Her Throwback
The comments section of Barrymore’s Instagram post was filled with fans congratulating her on the honors. One of those fans was 9-1-1: Nashville star Jessica Capshaw, who left clapping emojis.
