2025 WORLD AQUATICS SWIMMING WORLD CUP – Westmont
October 17-19, 2025 Westmont, Illinois SCM (25 meters) Meet Central Psych Sheets Live Results Live Recaps: Prelims: Day 1 Finals: Day 1We have a few more scratches this week in Westmont than we did at this point in Carmel, as swimmers prioritise certain events or take a break ahead of some heavy training. Most swimmers with tough doubles or triples had already elected to scratch prior to today in the post-scratch psych sheet, however there are still some big names who have decided to drop out last night.
Shaine Casas will zero in on the 200 IM, the event in which he is the American Record holder and the 2nd-fastest man in history. He out-duelled teammate and WR holder Leon Marchand last week, and has dropped the 50 backstroke today in favor of the event. After setting a new U.S. Open record in the 100 IM last night, he could be even quicker in the 200 IM this time around.
Bella Sims also forgoes a double , scratching the 200 free for the 100 back. Pauline Mahieu does likewise, with Sims hoping to push Regan Smith and Kaylee McKeown close as she did last week.
New Zealand’s Lewis Clareburt scratched both of his entries today, potentially indicating that his world cup tour has come to an end. He was the #8 seed in the 200 fly and #10 seed in the 200 IM today. Canadian Ashley MacMillan does likewise, scratching all three events in which she was entered.
Thomas Ceccon also scratches the men’s 200 IM, instead focusing on the 100 free today where he is the #4 seed. Michal Chmielewski has done likewise, albeit in favor of the 200 fly where he is the #6 seed, racing next to his brother Krzystof in heat 3.
Luke Barr, a finalist in the 50 breaststroke last week, will not swim the event today. He is entered in the 200 IM, where he is now the #17 seed
