DENVER (KDVR) — Two people are dead after a crash on U.S. 287 in Larimer County on Friday night that closed the highway, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
CSP said that troopers responded to the crash at about 6:18 p.m.
The crash was located on U.S. 287 near Red Mountain Road at milepost 373, about 11 miles from the Wyoming state line and 18 miles north of Laporte.
By 6:36 p.m., CSP had closed the highway in both directions for the two-vehicle crash. The crash involved a Honda Accent and a Chevrolet Suburban, with one occupant killed from each vehicle. The agency did not share whether there were other occupants of the vehicles.
CSP asked motorists to choose alternate routes and expect delays in the area.
The agency also said that the investigation is still active and as of 7:40 p.m., it does not have an estimated time for the roadway to reopen.
