PENFIELD, N.Y. — St. Joseph School, a catholic elementary school in Penfield hosted its annual Grandparents Day celebration Friday morning.
The event allowed grandparents to participate in classroom activities and school events, providing them a glimpse into their grandchildren’s school life.
The celebration began at 8:45 a.m. and concluded at 11:30 a.m. Its purpose was to honor the bond between students and their grandparents.
“It feels great to have them with me and to come to my school and support me and I just feel really happy to have them here,” said Adia Baker, a student at St. Joseph.
“We’re very proud of her and proud of how she’s grown here at St. Joe’s. She’s blossoming,” said Gloria Demchuk, a grandparent.
The event wrapped up with a special mass at St. Joseph’s Church.
