Ariana Biermann admitted she had “hesitation” over bringing now-ex boyfriend Hudson McLeroy onto Next Gen NYC — especially because of a possible breakup.
“It’s a little nerve-wracking bringing somebody onto a TV show with you and putting your whole relationship out for the world to see,” Biermann, 24, exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month ahead of her and McLeroy’s split.
She noted, “We’re very young, you never know. I feel like it would suck to have to watch that back if we weren’t together or things like that, but it is my life.”
Biermann, who grew up in the limelight thanks to her mom and former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Kim Zolciak, revealed that the risk of being on TV together had paid off — at least to that point.

“People really loved it, and got to see our relationship, and people have been so sweet,” Biermann told Us. “It was a great thing and I’m really happy that we did it.”
Biermann and McLeroy’s relationship was documented throughout season 1 of Bravo’s Next Gen NYC, which concluded in July. The pair lived together in the Big Apple after moving there in July 2024 and highlighted their journey to starting a clothing company that Biermann had envisioned for years.
Despite having fan support, Biermann confessed to Us she was nervous about her worlds colliding.

While Biermann and McLeroy survived the reality TV breakup curse while filming season 1, their romance fizzled out shortly after Biermann spoke with Us for the Reality Stars of the Year issue, on newsstands now.

News broke on Tuesday, October 14, that Biermann and McLeroy called it quits after dating on and off since high school.
“Hudson and I have decided to go our separate ways,” Biermann announced via her Instagram Story at the time. “While these things are never easy, we both know it’s what’s best for us right now. We are so grateful for all the love and support you’ve shown us over the years.”

McLeroy reposted Biermann’s announcement via his Instagram Story before releasing his own statement the following day.
“I feel like everyone deserves to hear both sides of our story,” he said in a Wednesday, October 15, statement via his Instagram Stories. “I still and always will love Ariana.”

McLeroy proceeded to praise his ex-girlfriend, writing, “She’s been there for me at times when I couldn’t be there for myself.”
He then shared that he would be focusing on his personal growth as they went their separate ways.

While McLeroy works on himself, Biermann is also moving forward. The Don’t Be Tardy for the Party alum revealed via Instagram on Thursday, October 16, that she was packing up her things from the pair’s shared apartment.
“I’m moving into my own apartment. … First ever apartment in New York City. I’m the sole person on the lease,” she said in the social media video. “I’m excited, but also a very bittersweet thing.”
