The final Chicago Bears injury report ahead of their Week 7 game against the New Orleans Saints is OUT.
And so is kicker Cairo Santos.
Santos will miss his second consecutive game with a right thigh injury. The Bears’ top kicking option suffered the injury late in the team’s Week 4 win against the Las Vegas Raiders, then missed Chicago’s Week 6 victory against the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football. Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson told reporters earlier in the week that he plans to go back to Santos whenever he gets medical clearance. However, Santos hasn’t been given the medical green light. So with Cairo on the Bears’ injury report, kicker Jake Moody will be elevated from the practice squad for game-day kicking duties once again.
Hey, that worked out well enough last time!

As far as the rest of the Chicago Bears injury report, here it is (via Twitter/X):
PLAYERS RULED OUT: Kicker Cairo Santos (right thigh), linebacker Noah Sewell (concussion) PLAYERS LISTED AS QUESTIONABLE: Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (knee), running back D’Andre Swift (groin), defensive end Austin Booker (knee), running back Travis Homer (calf), linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga (knee) PLAYERS WHO PRACTICED IN FULL AND HAVE NO GAME DAY DESIGNATION: Right guard Jonah Jackson (ankle), wide receiver DJ Moore (hip, groin)WHAT’S NEXT FOR JAKE MOODY?
That gust of wind you felt might have been a collective sigh of relief from Chicago football fans after seeing DJ Moore with no game day designation and a full participation next to his name on the Bears injury report. Moore went from staying a night in a D.C.-area hospital after the team’s win on MNF to being a full-go in practice. What a whirlwind week it has been for the standout wideout. It is also encouraging to see right guard Jonah Jackson put together back-to-back full-participation practices. It looks like the offensive line will be intact once again going into game day.
Seeing defensive tackle Grady Jarrett upgraded from not practicing to doing so in a limited capacity. Jarrett has missed consecutive games and has been ineffective as a defender when he was healthy. Perhaps the time off has been good for him.

It will be interesting to see how the Bears handle their injured reserve situation. Defensive lineman Austin Booker, running back Travis Homer, and linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga all practiced in full on Friday. Each of those players has been designated to return from IR. But in order for that to happen, the team would have to clear up some roster spots. In other words, there needs to be some tinkering before we see the return of any of those players currently on IR. Stay tuned.
UPDATE: I think the roster tinkering has begun:
The Bears have released DE Tanoh Kpassagnon, which could perhaps indicate they will be getting Austin Booker off IR this weekend.
— Sean Hammond (@seanhammond.bsky.social) October 17, 2025 at 2:36 PMDefensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon has spent time on the Bears’ practice squad, beginning the year with that group. I can see a scenario play out in which Chicago’s front office tries to move him back to the practice squad if possible. Again, stay tuned for more.
