One of Walt Disney World’s most popular rides is temporarily closing amid a major overhaul.
Disney announced that Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in Epcot will be shut down for several days in November for refurbishment.
“Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will experience a short downtime Nov. 10-13, 2025, and will return with enhanced digital visuals and clearer imagery projected in 2D,” a statement on the Disney World website read. “Remy’s fans will spot new props and lighting enhancements when they are added to the queue and attraction over the next few months.”

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opened in the France pavilion of Epcot in 2021. The ride — which is inspired by the 2007 animated Pixar film Ratatouille — takes fans inside the movie as they shrink down to the size of a rat and join Chef Remy in the kitchen. Since the attraction’s inception, it has featured visuals that required 3D glasses, but the accessories will no longer be needed once the ride reopens with the 2D update.

The Ratatouille ride at Disneyland Paris — called Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy — has been undergoing a similar refurbishment. Disney announced in August that the attraction would close in October to make the 2D switch and add new elements, including a new scene of a Parisian artist’s studio in the queue and fresh props and enhanced projections during the ride. The attraction is expected to reopen in 2026.
As for Disney World, the theme park is currently undergoing several significant changes. At Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin are both closed for refurbishment until next year, while Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat permanently closed in July to make way for a new Cars Land expansion. At Epcot, Spaceship Earth is closed for refurbishment through October 25.
Meanwhile, at Animal Kingdom, It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed permanently in March, with its Zootopia: Better Zootogether replacement scheduled to open in November. There are also plans to remove DinoLand, with construction on a new Indiana Jones ride underway and a Tropical Americas land set to replace the dinosaur-themed area.
Finally, at Hollywood Studios, a new Monsters, Inc. land and a rethemed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster centered around The Muppets are in the works.
