Jon Bon Jovi Admits What Bothers Him About His Appearance — But Fans Disagree

Musician Jon Bon Jovi, 63, is getting candid about his appearance.

Bon Jovi appeared in the October 13 episode of his bandmate, David Bryan's podcast Let's Ask My Dad, co-hosted by his daughter, Gabrielle Rashbaum. During the episode, Rashbaum referenced Bon Jovi's iconic long, feathered hair in the 1980s, when the band first broke out in the music scene.

"What is your hair care routine today versus the '80s?" asked Rashbaum.

Bon Jovi, who has a much shorter 'do, replied that he uses a lot less product than he did back in the day. In addition, he revealed he's unhappy with his gray hair.

"I just pray to the hair gods that I have it, even though it's gone ridiculously gray and I've had to embrace that. Not happy about it," said Bon Jovi in the October 2025 interview.

When Rashbaum politely pushed back, saying gray hair is "very fashionable," Bon Jovi replied, "Well, then I've led that charge. I don't like it."

After Bon Jovi mentioned that he and his bandmates used to use quite a bit of hairspray to ensure their hair remained voluminous, Bryan quipped, "We're responsible for the hole in the ozone."

The clip of Bon Jovi discussing his gray hair was uploaded on the Let Me Ask My Dad official Instagram page. Several fans took to the post's comments section to share that they like the look of Bon Jovi's gray locks.

"Jon , you’re cute with grey hair !!!" wrote a commenter.

"Jon your hair is still gorgeous and I love the color! You are a silver fox!!! Great interview!" added another.

"Grey hair is cute you look cute with grey hair Jon," shared a third person.

"Love the gray," chimed in a different social media user.

"Oh I love a man with gray hair, a real silver fox!" commented a fan.

A few commenters also offered Bon Jovi some suggestions for his hair color.

"What a fun interview! Jon, if you don't like the gray, instead of highlights you could add some black lowlights to give it a salt and pepper look. You look great either way though!" commented a social media user.

"Love the gray. Just need a little bit of toning to cancel the yellowish," shared another.

Jon Bon Jovi Spoke About His Impact as a Musician

Bon Jovi discussed his impact as a musician in an April 2024 interview with Lewis Howes. Bon Jovi said that he believed that "anyone can have success" with "a hit song." However, he said that in order to "strive for greatness," one has to continually put on acclaimed works. "You have to work hard because it just doesn't happen. Greatness is something to strive for and it is given to nobody, [not] even the most gifted of musician or athlete or business leader," said Bon Jovi in the interview.

He clarified that despite being a rock icon for the last four decades, he has never felt as though he has been able to "reach greatness" as a professional musician. Bon Jovi then explained that this "chip on [his] shoulder" has kept him from ever feeling complacent.

"I do think that I've gotten quite good at it. I think that given the opportunity, physically, I can do it with the best of them at this point. But I think with every song, let alone with every album, it's can I do it again? How can I do it better?" said Bon Jovi.
