DENVER (KDVR) — Hundreds of Denver-area Comcast positions are being cut as the company ends its division structure and unifies all regional and divisional communications and government affairs functions.
The cuts are being made to Comcast's biggest unit, which houses Xfinity internet, mobile and pay television business, according to reports from Reuters and other media publications. The goal is to remove one of the pieces of the chain between corporate and regional offices, but the change comes at the cost of many jobs.
Comcast said in a WARN Notice shared by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment that it believes the new structure is "more streamlined" and will help the company move faster and with more focus.
However, the West Division headquarters facility at 9401 E. Panorama Circle in Centennial will be closed when the West Division ceases to exist on Jan. 1, 2026. As a result, the company is laying off 302 employees at the facility, with their final day scheduled for Dec. 31, 2025.
The company said that the impacted employees will be considered for other positions at Comcast, and that "many of the impacted employees will transition to other positions within the company and continue their careers with Comcast."
Comcast also said that employees who do not continue within the company will be entitled to severance benefits. Impacted positions range from marketing and communications to project management, business process effectiveness and engineering operations.
