Alanis Morissette believes she could write the celebrity survival handbook that the entertainment industry desperately needs.
In a recent Q&A interview published by the Los Angeles Timeson Wednesday, the "Ironic" singer spoke about vital moments in her career, celebrated the 30th anniversary of her iconic album Jagged Little Pill and revealed the darkness of fame.
The 51-year-old singer has been prepping for her Las Vegas residency, which is set to start next Wednesday at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. She is set to perform eight shows in total: October 15, 17, 18, 22, 24, 25 and November 1 and 2.

After relocating to Los Angeles, she released the alternative rock album Jagged Little Pill, which won her five Grammy Awards and became one of the best-selling albums of all time. The Canadian-American singer now has 10 studio albums under her name, with her latest being The Storm Before the Calm in 2022.
Though Morissette has a successful career, it was marked by several significant challenges, including the exploitation she endured as a teenager, the immense pressure of overnight fame, public backlash against her image and multiple professional and financial disputes. When asked how she learned to deal with those setbacks, she responded that she and the journalist who wrote the article, Steve Baltin, "could write the handbook, and we just hand it out to all the new celebs." Even though most celebrities love what they do, Morissette emphasized that most artists "are highly sensitive empaths," and it's hard to receive immense amounts of hate from the Internet.

"I feel great passion about it," Morissette responded. "I'm always blown away by them, and then I see people like Olivia and I just think, 'Oh, everything's going to be okay. We’re all going to be okay if Olivia exists; we’re good.'"
Rodrigo and Morissette have developed a close friendship throughout the years, first meeting and interviewing each other for Rolling Stone's "Musicians on Musicians" series back in October 2021. The "Vampire" singer has since cited Morissette as one of her biggest inspirations, even inviting her onstage during one of her Los Angeles shows on the SOUR Tour in May 2022 to perform a duet of "You Oughta Know."
Fans can purchase tickets to Morissette's upcoming Las Vegas residency, which is set to take place throughout the month of October and the first two days of November.
