The Parent Trap co-star, 71, was spotted backstage at Dancing With the Stars on Tuesday, Oct. 14, ahead of the performance by his co-star from Disney's beloved movie from 1998, outlets including People report.
Elaine Hendrix, 54, and her partner Alan Bersten danced to “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole as part of the show’s Dedication Night.
Hendrix dedicated the performance fellow Parent Trap star Lisa Ann Walter — who also joined the couple on the dance floor. Quaid posed for photos with Walter, 62, Tuesday night to commemorate the night.
Quaid was seen patting his former co-stars’ shoulders and giving them words of encouragement before the performance, People reported on Tuesday. He could also be seen nodding his approval after the dance and earning thunderous shouts from the show's audience.
"It means everything to me, the love and support of the people who are here and the people who aren't here," Hendrix said on Tuesday, per People. "I just I feel so much love. And when you are lucky enough to have these kind of people in your life, you have to hold on to them because they're lifers."
Hendrix also sang praises for her friend, dance partner and former co-star Walter during the night.
"We know what to say to each other because we know each other so well," said Hendrix, per People. "So when I start to get on the edge, she knows how to bring me back and how to calm me down. And so having her here means everything to me."
Quaid has been in the news of late following Jimmy Kimmel's ABC suspension.
