The multi-talented actress and comedienne directed the special herself, with co-production credits going to her co-star Sheryl Lee Ralph, along with Michael Caputo and Shannon Hartman.

While it may seem like Walter is an overnight success thanks to her scene-stealing role on Abbott Elementary, the 62-year-old has paid her dues. Walter has been a touring comic for two decades and a working actress with memorable comedic roles in The Parent Trap, Shall We Dance, Bruce Almighty, and Steven Spielberg’sWar of the Worlds.
Walter’s self-directed comedy special is not her first time creating her own work. In 2011, she published the memoir The Best Thing About My Ass Is That It’s Behind Me, which reached #13 on both the Amazon and New York Times Comedic Essay Bestseller List.
