Last month, Kimmel was joined on his show by actress Grace Van Patten, who plays Knox in the new Hulu series, The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox.
During their conversation, Kimmel told Van Patten the one question he would ask Knox if given the chance: "What is the food in an Italian prison like?"
And now, Knox has an answer for Kimmel.

@jimmykimmel says if he ever had me on the show he would ask me about Italian prison food," Knox captioned the post. "I have my answer ready."
In the video from the comedy act, Knox said, "People actually apologize to me when we go to Italian restaurants. They're like 'Oh my god, I'm so sorry. You must be so sick it.'"
"And I'm like, 'No, I didn't get to eat real Italian food in prison," she said while on stage, noting that what she ate while behind bars was "more like dumpster diving behind an Olive Garden."
Knox was in prison in Italy for four years following her wrongful conviction for the 2007 murder of Meredith Kercher, one of her roommates while studying abroad in Perugia, Italy.
Knox was tried and convicted alongside Raffaele Sollecito, her boyfriend at the time of Kercher's death. Knox and Sollecito were convicted in their initial trial in 2009 and sentenced to 26 and 25 years in prison, respectively.
In 2011, their convictions were overturned by an appeals court, and Knox returned home to the U.S. However, their acquittal was later overturned in 2013, and they were both re-convicted in 2014.
After another appeal, Knox and Sollecito's convictions were officially overturned in 2015, finally exonerating them from the crime.
Since her exoneration, Knox has created a new life for herself with husband Christopher Robinson, with whom she has welcomed two children, daughter Eureka and son Echo.
