BUFFALO, N.Y. — As crews continue to work on the Buffalo Bills new stadium, the Pegulas have their eyes set on a new project.
The Sabres organization confirms negotiations have started for a renovation project at the KeyBank Center expected to cost at least $400 million, News10NBC’s Buffalo affiliate WGRZ reports.
Sabres COO Pete Guelli confirmed that preliminary conversations have began between the organization, state, and Erie County.
One of the goals of the renovations is making sure both the area around the arena and the arena itself thrive, according to Guelli.
Sources told WGRZ that renovations would touch every aspect of the facility, including the infrastructure, team areas, and fan-facing experiences.
The last time the KeyBank Center underwent grand renovations was when it opened nearly 30 years ago.
