Elisa Donovan rose to stardom as the legendary redhead Amber in the 1995 film Clueless alongside Alicia Silverstone. But in a revealing Instagram video shared on Friday in honor of World Mental Health Day, the actress shared that she was struggling with a devastating eating disorder so serious that it could have killed her.

"For many years, I struggled with an eating disorder that had a massive impact on my mental health, and if I did not have the access to resources to help me, I don't think I would be sitting here today talking to you," Donovan, 54, shared in an Instagram video while sitting on a couch. The actress sported the same red hair as in her Clueless days, showing that she's barely changed in recent years. But it was the message that she shared that proved to be most important.
"I am extraordinarily grateful to the nutritionists, the doctors, the psychotherapists, and the therapists that helped me, and I really, really want everyone to have access to this kind of care. 70% of people have untreated mental health issues. That is a staggering percentage," she continued.

Donovan captioned the video by noting that she was participating in a challenge to raise funds and awareness for mental health.
"Today, I join the #NotAloneChallenge to remind everyone that you’re #NotAlone. We’re raising awareness and funds to provide free mental health resources for everyone. No one should have to struggle in silence," she wrote.
