The Denver Broncos wide receiver depth is in a pretty good spot right now, but for George Paton and Sean Payton, it never hurts to look into adding more.
With the team set to return home from London following today’s game against the New York Jets, the Broncos will host former Tennessee Titans first-round pick Treylon Burks at some point this week for a visit.
If things go well, Burks could land on the practice squad. At wide receiver specifically, the Broncos’ practice squad features Michael Bandy, A.T. Perry, Thayer Thomas, and newcomer Samori Toure.
Burks could upend one of those players’ potential statuses on the practice squad, but evaluating his fit will be what Payton and Paton determine before they ultimately decide to make or not make a move with Burks.
Denver isn’t the only team that is likely to host him for a visit, either.
Before the regular season, the Tennessee Titans made the decision to move on from Burks with an injury settlement, which was a huge surprise after they drafted him in 2022.
He has missed a handful of games throughout his young career due to injuries, appearing in 11 games as a rookie, 11 games in his second season, and five games last season, with 17 starts in 27 total games.
Burks suffered a turf toe injury and concussion during his rookie season that forced him to miss six games, a knee injury and concussion in 2023 that forced him to miss six games, and ultimately suffered an ACL tear in 2024 that forced him to miss the Titans final 12 games.
He also suffered a broken collarbone in training camp, which ultimately led to Tennessee waiving him with an injury settlement.
The Broncos could ultimately take a flyer on the former first-round pick.
