Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi wasn’t mincing words after his team went into Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday afternoon and took down No. 25 Florida State, 34-31.
Not only was Narduzzi proud of his own guys, who outlasted the Seminoles in a thriller, rolling up 476 yards of total offense. He was fired up about what some Seminole players said to his offensive line before the game. You know, the same Pittsburgh offensive line that paved the way for that 34-point output and those 476 total yards.
According to Narduzzi, there was some heavy trash talk going on during the pregame on the field. Narduzzi said that some FSU players told Pitt’s offensive line that it “wasn’t any good.”
Then the game happened and an upset happened, and that Panthers offensive line dominated the Seminoles defense pretty well on Saturday. Sure, FSU did have 5 sacks, which isn’t ideal for an O-line in any game, but that O-line still was resilient enough to put up all those points and all those yards against that FSU defense.
Narduzzi took extra delight in the victory for that reason alone during his postgame press conference.
“I guess they’re pretty damn good. … I’ll take them any day. I’ll take them over that O-line for sure,” Narduzzi said.
