ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A slow-moving low-pressure system is spinning just west of Rochester and producing bands of rain across the area. The rain will slowly move east and come to an end later tonight with drier air arriving for Sunday. The finish to the weekend promises to be much improved with a return to some sunshine.
Tonight, look for occasional rain to slowly taper later this evening. However, this wet weather will linger into the early morning hours across the Finger Lakes but should end before sunrise. The low temperature will be within a few degrees of 50. Sunday may bring a few patchy clouds for the morning, then skies will become partly to mostly sunny. It should be a pleasant end to the weekend with the high temperature in the middle to upper 60s. Then a storm along the east coast will spread showers back into the Finger Lakes and eventually the rain will reach all of Western New York for Monday morning. Columbus Day will be cooler with the temperature near 60 degrees.
