Christmas is coming early this year.
Taylor Momsen, best known for her work as Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Jenny Humphrey in Gossip Girl,has been teasing a new project for the past week, posting videos of TV screens surrounded by Christmas decorations, showing clips from her work done in the late 1990s and early 2000s on her Instagram. Many fans were able to make the connection that she might be releasing a new holiday-themed album soon.
On Friday, the former actress finally announced on Instagram that her rock band, The Pretty Reckless, will be releasing a brand new holiday EP, titled Taylor Momsen’s Pretty Reckless Christmas, on Halloween this year.
The EP is set to have six tracks total — four original songs and two Grinch classics. The lead single, "Where Are You Christmas?" is out now on all streaming platforms.
"25 years in the making — 'Where Are You Christmas?' is OUT NOW! ?," Momsen wrote in her Instagram caption, referring to the fact that How the Grinch Stole Christmas was released 25 years ago.

Momsen started her acting career when she was just three years old, when she appeared in a national commercial for Shake 'n Bake in 1997. In 2000, she played her breakout role of Cindy Lou Who in How theGrinch Stole Christmas alongside Jim Carrey. After playing roles in various TV shows and films such as Hansel and Gretel, Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams, Saving Shiloh, Underdog, Paranoid Park and Gossip Girl from 2002 to 2007, the 32-year-old decided to take a break from acting to focus on her music career.
In 2009, she formed the band The Pretty Reckless, which consists of herself, Ben Phillips, Mark Damon and Jamie Perkins. In August 2010, the band released their debut studio album, Light Me Up, and have released four studio albums and multiple EPs since. The band's most recent album was Other Worlds, which was released in 2022.
