ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Progress has been made on the construction of the new Buffalo Bills stadium that the team is set to start using in 2026.
News10BC’s Buffalo affiliate WGRZ reports crews started installing the natural grass field Tuesday. The Kentucky Blue Grass sod was grown in New Jersey.
Underneath the sod, crews installed tubing that will allow for it to be heated so that snow that falls on it will melt on contact.
The lower tier seats in the stadium have also been installed, having a blue and red color scheme.
Erie County Stadium Corporation President Steve Ranalli told our affiliate that there are about 1,200 construction workers on the site working seven days a week, and the stadium is about 70% complete and set to be finished next July.
