The most iconic rock stars of the 1980s reunited for a once-in-a-lifetime event honoring the career achievements of one of the United Kingdom’s most celebrated hard rock bands.
On October 9, 2025, Jon Bon Jovi and the members of Def Leppard reunited to celebrate the band's new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The group, known hits such as "Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Rock of Ages," and "Photograph," received the 2,825th star on October 9, 2025, reported Fox 11 Los Angeles. Their star is located at 1750 N. Vine St., right in front of the historic Capitol Records building, according to Billboard.
They rock legends were inducted by Jon Bon Jovi, frontman, lead singer, and songwriter for Bon Jovi. He shared a touching series of remarks about his friendship with Def Leppard's members Joe Elliott, Phil Collen, Rick Savage, Vivian Campbell, and Rick Allen.
Bon Jovi said, "I am Jon Bon Jovi, and I am a Def Leppard fan. I was a fan before I became a friend. Before I had ever written 'Runaway', I heard the band from Sheffield [England] who were 'Bringing on the Heartbreak."

Bon Jovi continued, "These guys were my age, from a working-class city in Sheffield, England, which was thousands of miles away from a place called Sayreville, New Jersey. Yet there was something that I was drawn to, the melody, the guitars, the young guys with the audacity to put it out there in front of major recording acts and not flinch."
"We first met in 1986 during a festival show in Germany, and I quickly realized that these guys were going to be my friends. They had just come off the huge success of Pyromania, with monster songs that defined what rock radio would sound like. We hit it off immediately, and hanging out with Joe and the guys felt like hanging out with my own band, but with a different accent."
Bon Jovi concluded, "There had been many a long night in various cities, after each other's shows, and many celebrations, fun times, and laughs, and even the heartbreak and loss. There's just some things you are able to share with a brother from across the ocean that you just both understand."
The entertainer ended his remarks by discussing Def Leppard's historic four decades in the music business, citing the band's endurance due to their "work ethic," "resilience," and "influence." He called their legacy "etched in stone" and noted their induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 by Queen's Brian May (Bon Jovi was honored one year prior).
Def Leppard has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, according to the band's official website. Billboard cites some of the band's biggest recording achievements as achieving Diamond sales of their monster LP's Hysteria, (12M), and Pyromania (10M).
Tragedies brought Def Leppard closer together
The group has overcome adversities that could have ended their career, including Rick Allen losing his arm in a car accident in 1984, the death of longtime guitarist Steve Clark in 1991, and guitarist Campbell's battle against Hodgkin's Lymphoma. In an interview, Allen said that instead of driving the band apart, it brought them closer together.
"Some of the things that weren't so pleasant, like losing Steve, or when I went through my accident; it's one of those times when you're sitting around in a room with each other and you look at one another and you ask, 'Why are we doing this again?'" he explained.
"And everyone seemed to come up with 'we're friends.' That's why we wanna do this," Allen concluded.
Def Leppard will play the Hard Rock Casino in Northern Indiana on October 11, before taking a break and returning to the road for a February 2026 residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, reports their website.
