The incident took place on the fifth delivery of the 85th over in India’s first innings. Shubman Gill and wicketkeeper Tevin Imlach collided at the striker’s end. Yashasvi Jaiswal flicked a delivery from Anderson Phillip for a quick single.
Jayden Seales attempted a throw towards the stumps, but it went wide, prompting Imlach to move across while Gill, sprinting with his head down, tried to make his ground.
Both players crashed into each other awkwardly, leaving them in visible discomfort and forcing a brief pause in play. Physios from both teams rushed to the field for medical attention, with concerns briefly raised over a possible concussion for Gill.
Gill's batting partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, tried to keep things light after the collision. Jaiswal acted like a physio and was hilariously seen conducting a concussion test. Fortunately, both players were declared fit to continue.
