Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Faith Gorey from Brentwood, Tennessee, has made a verbal commitment to the University of Alabama for 2027-28.
“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commit to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Alabama! I cannot be more grateful for the support of my teammates at NAC and Carmel, and all the coaches who have helped get me here. Most importantly I thank God and my family for love and guidance. Thank you to Coach Margo, Mike, and all the coaches at Alabama. ROLL TIDE ROLL ”
Gorey is a junior at Brentwood Academy this year, after having spent her first two years of high school in Indiana at Carmel High School. She swam with Carmel Swim Club from the fall of 2021 through the summer of 2025 and is now attached to Nashville Aquatic Club. We considered her a “Best of the Rest” recruit for butterfly, freestyle, and IM on our Way Too Early list of the top girls swimmers in the class of 2027.
Gorey kicked off the 2024-25 short-course season with a PB of 4:20.15 in the 400 IM at the CSC Fall Frenzy. She followed that up with lifetime bests of 50.26/1:47.56 in the 100/200 free at Winter Juniors East, where she finaled in the 100 free (14th), 200 free (6th), and 200 fly (15th).
At Indiana High School State Championships in February, she was runner-up in the 100 free with a lifetime best of 49.70 and she swam on all 3 Carmel relays. She hit a PB of 23.28 in the 50 free, leading off the 200 free relay in prelims, and split 22.79 anchoring the 200 medley relay in finals.
Gorey began the 2025 long-course season with new highs in the 400 free (4:25.93), 200 back (2:20.13), and 400 IM (5:03.83) at the NAC Summer Sizzler and ended with PBs in the 50 free (26.53), 200 free (2:02.77), and 200 fly (2:14.77) at Summer Juniors. She was a finalist in the 200 free (17th), 200 fly (13th), and 200 IM (20th) in Irvine.
Gorey’s best times would have ranked 2nd in the 200 free, 2nd in the 200 fly, 5th in the 100 fly, and 6th in the 100 free on the Crimson Tide’s roster in 2024-25.
Best SCY times:
100 fly – 53.82 200 fly – 1:59.46 50 free – 23.28 100 free – 49.70 200 free – 1:47.56 200 IM – 2:01.50 400 IM – 4:20.15She will join her brother, Michael Gorey, who recently announced his intention to take a gap year and begin his collegiate career at Alabama in 2026.
