Fall Guy Star Reveals Why She Left the Limelight in Resurfaced Interview: I Shot A Stalker In My Bedroom

Heather Thomas, 68, was one of the most popular TV and film actresses of the 1980s, starring opposite Lee Majors in ABC’s Fall Guy. The stunning blonde all but disappeared from the limelight after leaving the hit show, despite the show launching her into worldwide fame. In a reshared clip from her March 2025 interview with entertainment journalist Steve Kmetko on his I'mStill Here Hollywood podcast, Thomas sheds new light on the terrifying reason she opted out of Hollywood at the height of her success.

Thomas spoke to Kmetko in March, but the journalist re-shared the revealing and important conversation with the ’80s icon.

“I was just getting so many stalkers,” she explained. “... really bad, really bad. At least two a week. I had tons of restraining orders out. God, I had two little girls, and a guy’s jumping on a gate with a giant buck knife. And yeah, in those days—I don’t know if this is true now—people would fixate. You could be in a soap commercial, and they would fixate on you.”

Thomas went on to explain one particularly scary incident.

“I remember someone sent me a box of bullets, you know, and people would send me like funeral rites they stole from a graveyard. There were a lot of psychos. I always had a bodyguard in the house because I didn’t want to come home to a dark house. And I know I had one guy one night cut my screen in my bedroom and got in, and I shot him… with rock salt and bird shot.”

The actress then reveals that it took a few years after leaving Fall Guy for the stalking incidents to stop. Now, the actress still likes to do a few small projects a year.

“I’ll do like a Sundance film or every now and then,” she said, before revealing she was mostly able to protect her two young daughters from knowing what she was dealing with.

“I never knew that,” shared one fan. “Poor woman having to go through that.”

Another added, “Terrible to hear what she had to deal with behind the scenes.”

Thomas also revealed she’s only talked about the subject a few times and has mostly dealt with the terrifying issue privately.
