If it seems like there have been a lot of food recalls lately, you aren't wrong. Between the Goodles recall due to the potential for undeclared allergens and the possibility of radioactive shrimp, it's hard to know what's truly safe to eat anymore. However recalls are put in place to help protect us, not attempt to scare us from making our next meal. And fortunately the processes that identify these potentially problematic situations usually catch things before they cause anyone any harm.
With that in mind, it's important to heed any warnings if you have a particular product in your fridge, freezer or pantry. There's no point in taking a chance on getting sick when you can simply return the item for a full refund (in most cases). And now there's yet another recall happening in the grocery freezer section you should really know about.

Sno Pac Foods, a company based out of Caledonia, Minnesota, is recalling certain packages of their organic frozen spinach. The recall includes both the Del Mar 35 lb bulk bags and the Sno Pac 10 oz cut spinach because they could possibly be contaminated with Listeria.
We hear about Listeria a lot in regards to food recalls, but what is it? Listeria is a type of bacteria that can make people sick. For the majority of healthy adults, it might mean a rough few days with fever, stomach upset or other flu-like symptoms. But for young kids, older adults, people with weakened immune systems or pregnant women, Listeria can be much more serious. That's why this recall is important. If you’ve got these products in your freezer, it's best to play it safe and not eat them.
