The child prodigy, who hasn’t even taken his GCSEs yet, hit a nine-darter in a semi-final victory at a Vault event in his home country.

He beat Brendon Clark 3-0 in The County Bar in Cambuslang and achieved perfection along the way.

A leg of 147, 180, 147 saw him take home one of the tournament’s boards as a prize.

Lawrie has hoovered up multiple awards at youth and senior level and it may not be long before he’s on the same oche as Littler.

In fact, the Renfrew High School student even previously admitted he’d lost count of his honours.

“I don’t actually know how many I have, there are too many to count now,” he said. “The standout one is the Europe Youth Cup singles trophy.

“People who have won that include Michael van Gerwen and Stephen Bunting when they were youth players.”

talkSPORT earlier reported on his double victory in September where he won the youth and senior British Open during the same weekend.

He’s also now set to play at Lakeside for the WDF World Championships, showing his star has risen higher than Littler’s at the same age.

By comparison, Littler entered the same tournament a year older at 15 in 2022.

Lawrie has pocketed over £5000 in prize money thanks to his Welsh and British Open titles, while he has seven more major youth honours to his name.

However, taking the next step to Littler’s level will be a mammoth task, with ‘The Nuke’ reaching the blue riband PDC World Championship final in 2024 at a record age of 16 years and 347 days.

Littler followed up that captivating debut by keeping his form going with multiple premier event wins, making him one of the most famous sports people in Britain.

He then topped it off with a World Championship victory a year later, the peak of any darts player’s career.

Lawrie, however, was well into darts even before Littler came on the scene and took the sport to new heights.

The youngster who idolised Gary Anderson explained: “I started playing a lot during lockdown in a Monday night online league, and that’s when I started playing a lot, maybe six or seven hours a day, because there wasn’t much else to do in lockdown.

“Then I stopped for a bit, but when we moved house, I started playing again, and that’s when I realised how good I was, and I started doing it competitively.

“I usually practise for around two to two and a half hours a day, and sometimes it can be more but that is the routine that I stick to.

“When you are on tour, it is a hard shift, and you are away for a long time.

“If this is what you want to do then you have to enjoy it as well. Through darts, I have seen the whole world; it’s an amazing sport to play and a great chance to make a great living.”
