Russian ballet legend Mikhail Baryshnikov can still turn heads at 77. The dance icon made a rare appearance Wednesday in New York City alongside former Sex and the City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker for the NYC Ballet Fashion Gala. Even SJP’s black floor-length angel wings were upstaged by Baryshnikov’s red-carpet reunion with his former on-screen love interest.
While Sarah Jessica Parker is a fixture on the red carpet, Baryshnikov is known for keeping a lower profile. But the ageless 77-year-old looked dapper in tinted round sunglasses and a crisp black suit. One of the world’s most famous male ballet dancers, Baryshnikov was accompanied by his daughter, Anna Baryshnikov, 33 — whose mother is former ballet dancer Lisa Reinhart.

Baryshnikov, who portrayed “The Russian,” Alexander Petrovsky, in Season 6 of the HBO comedy, shared a warm embrace with Parker, as if no time had passed since Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw was nearly left heartbroken in Paris — until Mr. Big flew in to save the day.
Sex and the City and And Just Like That fans have always had strong opinions on Carrie’s choices when it comes to love. Seeing video of the former co-stars’ reunion had fans talking — and even lamenting Carrie’s decision to leave the workaholic Petrovsky in Paris.
“IRL, Carrie would have stayed with the Russian,” wrote one fan still rooting for the on-screen couple.
