General Hospital star Cameron Mathison took to social media to reveal some surprising news that many fans think is a true sign he cannot ignore. The actor took to Instagram to share the details, and even he acknowledges there is more to come.
Mathison shared a video showing him in his car with a special companion. He gushed, "Look who's back in my life!" That very special companion was a Doberman pinscher named Hunter, whom Mathison cared for as a foster dog not long ago.

The last that fans heard about Hunter, he had left Mathison's care for what would hopefully become his forever home. However, as Mathison explained in his new video, "We found out the hard way that this big guy really needs to be the only pet in the house."
He added, "So until we find him the perfect setup, he's hanging with me again." Hunter looked quite content riding in the car as Mathison's sidekick.
Mathison was quick to acknowledge that fans were surely going to say that Hunter returning to his care was a sign they were meant to be together. He acknowledged in the caption, "Trust me, I've thought that too."
The actor previously explained that right now, it would be quite difficult for him to have a big dog like Hunter. Mathison's family home burned to the ground in the January Pacific Palisades wildfire in California, and he is living in a temporary rental. "It's just tricky with where I live right now, until I find a permanent place."
"I mean, I guess he's going to be with me for a bit," Mathison added.
He also explained that his work schedule is extremely busy and he travels a lot, both of which make it difficult to have a dog. Mathison has admitted he's drawn to Hunter in part because he reminds him a lot of his previous dog, Red.
In addition to starring on General Hospital, Mathison hosts the game show Beat the Bridge and is working with Great American Family on new movies. He previously competed on Dancing with the Stars and worked on projects for the Hallmark Channel, as well.
It sounded as if Hunter's return does have Mathison wavering a bit. "For now, we're just enjoying the time together," Mathison wrote.
In his caption, he also included a request that if anybody "has room in their home and heart for a 100-pound Doberman with no other pets, please reach out or drop a comment below!"
Fans Are Excited for Mathison and Hunter's Return
Naturally, Mathison received a flood of comments on his post.
"Good on you for being a soft landing for however long and in whatever capacity," one fan wrote.
"He will eventually get the right family," another fan commented.
"Cameron he's yours I hope you can find a bigger place or something soon and you can keep him, he looks so happy with you," added someone else.
An additional comment read, "Awww. What a sweetie! He's meant to be with you!"
"Yep meant to be! Dogs are like kids. They adapt to their surroundings. He's fine in an apartment as long as he gets exercise which I know you will do. Just face it, you love him and he loves you. It's meant to be," urged another fan.
