Sectionals finalist Camryn Siegers has announced her verbal commitment to swim for the University of Alabama beginning in the fall of 2027.

A native of western Michigan, Siegers recently started her junior year at Holland Christian High School, where she has been a member of the swimming and diving team since her freshman year. In addition to competing for the Maroons, Siegers swims year-round with Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics and primarily specializes in sprint free and back.
Siegers is not the first swimmer from Michigan Lakeshore to head to Tuscaloosa, as former club swimmers Kasia Norman, Riley Vanmeter and Meg Peel all went on to swim for Alabama. All three have now graduated.
Siegers is a three-time Michigan high school state champion. She took home the championship title in two events at the 2024 MHSAA Girls Division III State Championship, winning the 50 free (23.19) and defending her state title in the 100 back (55.69), which she first won the year prior. Siegers also helped her team to a 3rd-place finish in the 400 free relay and a 7th-place finish in the 200 medley relay.
At the Rochester Sectionals (SCY) in March, Siegers turned in a series of strong performances and earned a second swim in all five of her individual events. She placed 7th in both the 100 free (51.77) and 200 back (2:00.33), 8th in the 50 free (23.86), 10th in the 100 back (56.67) and 17th in the 200 free (1:52.50).
Siegers competed at the Futures Championships (LCM) in Ocala over the summer, where she enjoyed a series of top swims. She threw down personal best times in the 100 back (1:03.74) and 50 free (26.66), picking up Winter Juniors cuts in both events before taking 8th overall in the 100 back in 1:04.09. Siegers also placed 4th in the 50 back (29.32 – PB), 17th in the 200 back (2:20.08 – PB) and 31st in the 100 free (59.31).

At the 2025 SEC Championships, the Alabama women took 6th before sending eight athletes on to compete at the NCAA Championships, where they finished 15th overall.
To make it back to the ‘C’ final at last season’s SEC Championships, it took times of 22.40/48.82/1:46.68 in the 50/100/200 free and 53.11/1:55.25 in the 100/200 back, putting Siegers outside of the cutoff in each of her top events. With two more seasons to go before she arrives on campus, Siegers could still see some major time drops that improve her scoring chances before fall 2027.
Currently set to join Siegers in the pool in two years are Grace Alegi, Faith Gorey and Emma Young, who should make for strong training partners over their four years together.
