ONTARIO COUNTY, N.Y. — The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) in coordination with the Department of Health has lifted the recreational use advisory for Flint Creek.
The DEC and DOH issued the precautionary advisory on Aug. 30 after a fire in Gorham at a massive warehouse known as the Eco Operations facility.

The warehouse was filled with nearly thousands of expired hand sanitizer and other items. In early September, News10NBC obtained letters, cease and desist orders, emails, and even a lawsuit that pointed to concerns state and local officials had about the business, which never got a permit or site plan approval from the town.

The DEC says water quality sampling and data collection along the creek shows improvement and low health risk for fishing/fish consumption, boating, and swimming.
