Disneyland raises prices on daily tickets and annual passes

Disneyland has raised prices on most daily tickets and some annual passes while keeping the lowest-priced admission the same as the Anaheim theme park continues to celebrate its 70th anniversary with a yearlong party.

Ticket prices for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure increased an average of 3.3% on Wednesday, Oct. 8 with Magic Key annual passes climbing as much as 8.6%.

    Top-tier, one-day tickets to Disneyland and DCA now cost $224 for a single park admission and $314 for a parkhopper ticket. A decade ago, a daily ticket to Disneyland or DCA cost $99 in 2015 and a parkhopper ticket was $155 before Disneyland moved to a tiered pricing system.

    With the latest hikes, the most expensive tickets in Disneyland’s seven-tier pricing system rose 8.7% from $206 to $224 for one-day single park admission and 11.7% from $281 to $314 for a one-day parkhopper.

    The lowest-priced one day, one park ticket has remained unchanged at $104 since 2019. The cheapest one-day parkhopper ticket climbed 3% from $169 to $174.

    Parkhopper upgrades that once tacked on $65 to $75 depending on the ticket tier will now set you back $70 to $90.

    Single-day, single park ticket prices increased 0% to 8.7%: Tier 0 ($104), Tier 1 ($129), Tier 2 ($149), Tier 3 ($169), Tier 4 ($184), Tier 5 ($199) and Tier 6 ($224).

    Multiday tickets saw similar hikes. Two-day, one-park tickets rose to $335 (from $330) while three-day tickets now cost $425 for single park access (up from $415).

    Disneyland Magic Key annual pass prices increased from 0% to 8.6%.

    Inspire pass: $1,899, up 8.6% Believe pass: $1,474, up 7.3% Enchant pass: $974, unchanged Imagine pass: $599, unchanged

    Daily theme park parking rates remained unchanged at $35.

    The cost of the Lightning Lane Multipass line-cutting service rose 6.3% to $34 on pre-arrival purchases. Prices will vary for purchases made at the parks — starting at $37 on the day of visit.

    With the latest increases, Disneyland continues to use ticket pricing to manage attendance and spread visits from peak periods to slower times of the year.

    The Disneyland resort provides a wide variety of ticket, dining and hotel options along with promotional offers throughout the year to help visitors save money, according to Disneyland officials.

    Starting in 2016, Disneyland switched to a demand-based pricing system with tickets divided into tiers. The number of tiers has increased from three in 2016 ($95 to $119) to five in 2020 ($104 to $154), six in 2021 ($104 to $164) and seven in 2022 ($104 to $179).

    Disney ticket price increases typically have a ripple effect, with Universal Studios Hollywood, SeaWorld San Diego and Knott’s Berry Farm raising admissions soon after to keep pace with the industry leader.

    Disneyland softened the blow of the latest price increase with a new discount promotion for California residents offering a 3-day parkhopper ticket for as low as $249 — or $83 a day. The discount tickets go on sale Dec. 3 and are good Jan. 1 through May 21.
