90s Country Queen Recording First Album in Over 10 Years

Country powerhouse Jo Dee Messina, the voice behind some of the biggest hits of the late 1990s and early 2000s — “Heads Carolina, Tails California,” “Bye Bye,” “I’m Alright,” “Stand Beside Me,” and her duet with Tim McGraw, “Bring On the Rain” — has officially returned to the studio.

It’s been more than ten years since Messina released her last full-length project, Me, in March 2014. Since then, she’s dropped a handful of standalone singles, but fans have been eagerly awaiting a full album — and it looks like the wait is almost over.

Midway through the video, she added an on-screen caption that reads, “Just wrote this one,” before singing a lyric that instantly grabbed fans’ attention:

“Some bridges are meant to build and some bridges are meant to burn.”

One commenter wrote, “Yayy! New music, I’m excited to hear it. Can’t go wrong with a song that has lyrics like that in it.” When asked about a release date, Messina herself replied:

“They say ‘Q1,’ first quarter 2026. Not sure exact release date yet.”
