On Tuesday, Colorado announced that the new live mascot of the university has been given the nickname “Brandy.”
The team of Ralphie handlers gave Ralphie VII her nickname after they “noticed her affinity to the song Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl), a 1972 hit by the band Looking Glass,” according to a news release.
According to the release, Ralphie VII enjoys the song and “strongly identifies with the lyrics.”
Brandy now officially joins the other line of individual Ralphie names including Moonshine (Ralphie II), Tequila (Ralphie III), Rowdy (Ralphie IV), Blackout (Ralphie V), and Ember (Ralphie VI).
