Turns out, the Taylor Swift Effect is no joke! During the Monday, October 6, episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the “Elizabeth Taylor” artist gave a fellow pop star a major shout-out that’s paying off on the music charts.
During a fun segment of “lasts,” Fallon, 51, asked Swift, 35, to name an artist, other than herself, that she’s been listening to lately.
“Oh, Tate McRae has a great new song called ‘Tit For Tat,’ you gotta listen to it,” the 14-time Grammy winner beamed. “Like, full volume, over and over again on repeat. It’s just so good.”
McRae’s “Tit for Tat” is now sitting pretty on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the first time since its release on September 26.

McRae, 22, best known for songs like “Greedy,” “You Broke Me First,” and “Exes,” was obviously over the moon, and took to social media to share her excitement.
Swift is currently doing some promotional work for her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl. Prior to sitting down with Fallon, she appeared on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, October 3, alongside fellow A-listers like Cillian Murphy and Jodie Turner-Smith.
Swift is also slated to appear on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday, October 8.
The Life of a Showgirl, popularly abbreviated as TLOAS, is Swift’s 12th studio album. Though record sales and streaming numbers have been through the roof, some critics have suggested that TLOAS lacks the same depth as her previous album, The Tortured Poet’s Department.
Speaking to her critics, Swift told Zane Lowe, "If it’s the first week of my album release and you are saying either my name or my album title, you’re helping,” she began.
“And art, I have a lot of respect for people’s subjective opinions on art. I’m not the art police," Swift added. "It’s like everybody is allowed to feel exactly how they want. And what our goal is as entertainers is to be a mirror.”
