The successful run of the first-ever Fan Fest Nights has persuaded Universal Studios Hollywood to bring back the after-hours event again next year with a new lineup of experiences dedicated to sci-fi, fantasy, gaming and anime fandoms.
The second annual Fan Fest Nights after-hours, separate admission event will run on select nights on April 23 through May 16 at Hollywood theme park.

So far, Universal has announced only the Scooby-Doo x Universal Monsters mash-up as the first reveal of a slate of new and returning experiences for Fan Fest 2026.
Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Velma, Fred and Daphne will face off against the Mummy, Dracula and Frankenstein’s Monster on the Universal Studios backlot as the Mystery Inc. gang tries to crack the case, save themselves and possibly even the world.

Universal hasn’t announced any other TV, movie, book, gaming and anime franchises that will be part of next year’s event — but we have a few likely contenders.

Plenty of the biggest fandoms outside the Universal universe would be ideal candidates for future Fan Fests: Game of Thrones, Hunger Games, Twilight, Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings, Sherlock Holmes, Supernatural, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Minecraft and Pokemon.

Fan Fest will almost certainly continue to draw from the Japan Cool event in its 10th year at Universal Studios Japan — which served as an inspiration for the inaugural event at the Hollywood park.

Past Japan Cool events have included attractions dedicated to Sailor Moon, Detective Conan, Lupin III, Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy.
The fandom event will feature interactive experiences, character interactions, live entertainment, cosplay, photo opportunities and themed food, beverages and merchandise.
Universal Fan Fest Nights 2026 event dates include April 23-25, May 1-3, May 7-9 and May 15-16.

Presale Fan Fest general admission tickets cost $74 on Thursday and Sunday nights, $79 on Friday nights and $84 on Saturday nights. The $249 Ultimate Fandom Pass will be good every night of the event with no blockout dates. The presale ends on Dec. 17.
Select attractions will be open during Fan Fest, including Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, Transformers: The Ride 3D, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster, Jurassic World — The Ride and the Simpsons Ride.
