A Yellow Alert is in place for Tuesday so you are prepared for impacts to outdoor events and slowdowns on the roads for the evening commute. Grab the umbrella with some steady rain arriving later this morning into early afternoon. Heavier downpours will develop as the cold front moves through Rochester between 5 and 8 PM tonight. Thunderstorms are also possible during that time. After the front clears the rain will taper off overnight and clear skies with cooler weather settles in for Wednesday.
We have been in a very dry pattern for a few months with drought conditions getting worse and worse. The rain today will not end the drought but will certainly help out.
