Jack Osbourne gave an update on his mom, Sharon, more than two months after the death of his father, Ozzy Osbourne.
The son of the late Black Sabbath legend broke down during an appearance on Good Morning America on Oct. 6 as he revealed that his mother is feeling the “outpour of love” and support from fans, but is still struggling with the loss of her husband of more than 40 years.
"You know, when people have been asking me that question, I say, 'She's OK, but she's not OK,'" Osbourne, 39, said during the GMA cover story interview. "I know she feels the love, and that has been such a level that none of us could ever really …You know, every child sits there and kind of has this thought about one day that parents won't be there, and what will that be like. It's just a part of being human. We just didn't think of it. It was a different weight to it, you know?"
Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22 at age 76, just 17 days after performing his farewell Back to the Beginning concert in Birmingham, England, with his Black Sabbath bandmates.
Speaking with GMA’sChris Connelly, Jack Osbourne revealed that he cried as he watched the show because he knew he’d never see his father on stage again. “I was with my brother. And we both were just crying,” he said. “Not because... It wasn't because of feeling sorry for him. It wasn't because we were sad for him. I think it was because we knew it was his last time,”
“In hindsight, it kind of was a living wake if you think about it,” he added.

Sharon Osbourne, 72, was very visible at the July 5 Back to the Beginning show, which she helped organize for charity. But she has only been seen in public a few times since her husband’s death. On July 30, fans offered their support when Sharon stepped from the funeral cortège to leave flowers at the Black Sabbath Bridge and Bench landmark during the procession for Ozzy through Birmingham.
Sharon remained silent on social media until Sept. 12, when she posted a video after visiting a falconry with her daughter, Kelly. In the caption to the post, she thanked fans for the “overwhelming love and support” that had carried her through “many nights.” She also shared that she was still finding her “footing” after the profound loss of her husband. “I love you all, and I thank you deeply for the otherworldly amount of love you continue to send my way,” she wrote.
