The Denver Broncos offensive line suffered a big blow in Sunday’s win against the Philadelphia Eagles and will be without left guard Ben Powers for the near future as he heads to injured reserve.
Mike Klis of 9News was first on the story. Klis notes that it’s considered a two month injury, with Powers potentially returning in December.
The veteran guard suffered a biceps injury during the game on Sunday, but played every single offensive snap despite the injury. On J.K. Dobbins two-yard touchdown run, Powers was the lead man on a pull play that allowed Dobbins to get into the endzone.

Veteran Matt Peart is the top option to step in as a starter at left guard in Powers’ absence, considering he got most of the reps during training camp and the preseason as the number two man.
With Powers heading to IR, the Broncos will now have a spot available on the active roster. Veteran defensive lineman Malcolm Roach is eligible to return from injured reserve, but he did not practice or work on the side field last week with the Broncos coming off a short week after Monday Night Football.
Depending on his progress, he could be the name that gets promoted back onto the active roster.
