Croatian swimmer Lucijana Lukšić has committed to continuing her swimming career at Louisiana State University in the fall of 2026. Lukšić specializes in the 200 freestyle and backstroke events and trains with the swim club Plivački Klub Medveščak in Zagreb.

Lukšić, who lives in Split, posted her fastest long course 100 back time at the 2025 Golden Bear meet (Zlatni Medvjed) in June, placing 2nd overall in 1:03.55. She also reached finals in three other events, winning the 200 free (2:03.84) and 200 back (2:17.58), and placing 2nd in the 100 free (57.19), which remains her personal best.
A few months earlier, in March, Lukšić posted her fastest 200 back time at the Victoria Primorje – HPS Grand Prix (LCM), finishing 2nd in 2:16.20. She also competed in three other events, placing 4th in the 100 back (1:04.54), 6th in the 200 free (2:04.54), and 9th in the 100 free (58.77).
Lukšić secured her best 200 free time of 2:01.95 in July 2022 at the European Youth Olympic Festival (LCM), where she won the event. She also competed individually in the 200 back, finishing 5th with a time of 2:17.16.
Lukšić recently became a finalist at the World Junior Championships (LCM) in August. Representing Croatia, she helped the 400 free relay to an 8th-place finish with a time of 3:46.80, swimming the second leg and splitting 56.95.

With another year still to go, Lukšić’s converted 200 free time (1:46.98) would have ranked 4th on the team last season. Her converted 100 free time of 50.08 is also competitive. The fastest 100 free time last season was 48.08, posted by Michaela De Villiers, who will return as a senior for the 2025–2026 season.
Dara Duffy, leva Visockaite, Sophie Benn, and Ava Ward will be joining Lukšić on campus in the fall of 2026. Visockaite was also a finalist at the 2025 World Junior Championships in the 400 free relay, placing 7th overall while representing Lithuania.
