Jackson State’s JaCobian Morgan and the Hampton Pirates were selected on Monday as the Stats Perform HBCU National Player and Team of the Week, respectively, for Week 6 FCS college football games this past weekend.
The weekly football honors lead up to the Stats Perform FCS National Awards Show on Jan. 3 in Nashville, Tennessee. The season-ending awards are in their 39th year.

HBCU FCS National Player of the Week
JaCobian Morgan, Jackson State, QB, Grad, 6-4, 228
Morgan accounted for 434 yards of total offense and five touchdowns as Jackson State defeated Alabama A&M 57-24 in the SWAC. He completed 21 of 30 passes (70.0%) for 314 yards and four TDs with a 201.9 pass efficiency rating. He also rushed for a career-high 120 yards and one TD on 12 carries. The Tigers finished with 702 offensive yards for their highest total in nearly 14 years.

HBCU FCS National Team of the Week
Hampton (41-34 win over Norfolk State)
The Pirates overcame a 21-10 deficit with a 24-3 run spanning the second and third quarters while beating Norfolk State in the Battle of the Bay rivalry series. Quarterback Braden Davis had 266 yards of total offense and both a TD run and pass. Freshman cornerback Andre Jackson Jr. racked up a game-high 12 tackles, including a sack, for coach Trenton Boykin’s CAA Football squad.
