The next star in Princess Cruises' Sphere Class is born.
Star Princess, the sister ship to Sun Princess, began its maiden voyage in the Western Mediterranean on October 4 and will sail an 11-day itinerary through October 15.

The new Princess cruise ship is now one of its largest and most technicalogically advanced in its fleet, along with its Sun Princess twin. Featuring capacity for 4,300 guests, the 177,800-ton ship has 30 dining and bar venues, five pools, arena-style theatre, central piaza and roof-deck "dome" entertainment venues, a casino and more.

Once it finishes it's first voyage, Star Princess will make a 7-day Mediterranean voyage, then sail a transatlantic voyage before debuting in Fort Lauderdale for a Caribbean season and official naming ceremony with Pantalones Co-Founders Camila and Matthew McConaughey on November 6.
Star will sail the Caribbean through spring 2026, and then make a trip through the Panama Canal to Seattle for a debut season of 7-day Alaska Inside Passage cruises in the summer of 2026.

More of 'The Love Boat' to Love
On September 30, Princess Cruises revealed that Camila and Matthew McConaughey will serve as godparents of the new Star Princess, who said that they are "proud of their new meaningful Godparents role." The McConaugheys will christen the cruise line on Nov. 6 in Fort Lauderdale. (Other Princess Godparents have included cultural icons such as Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren.)
Pantalones Organic Tequila is served aboard the fleet already, including in the signature 24K Gold Margarita. The McConaugheys were chosen thanks to “their passion for life, dedication to giving back, and unmistakable charisma..." said Antorcha.
With 30 celebrity-chef driven eating and drinking venues, Princess aims to be "the foodiest cruise ship at sea," and its choice to bring the McConaugheys on board has further solidified the strategy.
True to its name, Star Princess will be bringing back its star-powered restaurant lineup from Sun Princess, including Love by Britto, an artistic dining experience celebrating love, in partnership with Romero Britto, The Butcher’s Block by Dario, in partnership with the world’s most famous butcher, Dario Cecchini, Makoto Ocean, in partnership with Master of Edomae-style sushi Makoto Okuwa, and Umai Teppanyaki, where world-class cuisine blends with fun and lively performances.
Princess has also been lauded for its entertainment offerings, and has even partnered with Broadway composer Steven Schwartz on previous shows. Star Princess will be bringing the same next-level entertainment from Sun Princess, but with two new theatrical shows.
Meridian will be "a sweeping, cinematic spectacle of longing and liberation, set to a lush original score and reimagined chart-toppers. Step aboard Celestial, a grand ship sailing through the age of elegance, where love hides behind velvet masks and fate reveals all," Princess teases. It's second show, Illuminate, "takes place under the velvet canopy of a nostalgic circus tent and peels away illusion to reveal chromatic reverie and unexpected wonder."
