DENVER (KDVR) — University of Colorado Boulder football head coach Deion Sanders believes he may have blood clots again.
Following CU's loss to TCU on Saturday night, Coach Prime said he was "hurting like crazy," and cited blood clots as the possible cause. Spectators watching Sanders on the sideline during the game may have noticed that he had to sit down several times.
“Cat’s out of the bag, all right. I think I’ve got more blood clots,” Sanders said. “It don’t make sense. I’m hurting like crazy."
He has a history of dealing with blood clots, and in 2021, had to have two toes amputated because of blood clots, while he was the head coach of Jackson State before he made the move to Colorado.
After he made the switch to the Buffs, he had to miss Pac-12 media day in 2023 due to a procedure that removed a blood clot from his leg.
At the beginning of the season this year, Sanders announced that he had bladder cancer, during a summer when people speculated about his health in the offseason. He was successfully treated for the cancer.
AP reports that Sanders has a doctor's appointment on Monday.
