Ike Turner Jr., the son of legendary performers Tina Turner and Ike Turner Sr., has died. He was 67 years old.
According to a statement shared with TMZ by family member Jacqueline Bullock, Ike Jr. passed away on Saturday, October 4, at a hospital in Los Angeles — just one day after celebrating his 67th birthday. Bullock told the outlet that kidney failure was the cause of death, noting that Ike Jr.’s health had been declining due to heart issues and a recent stroke.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my cousin, Ike Turner Jr.,” Bullock said in the statement. “Junior was more than a cousin to me — he was like a brother, as we grew up in the same famed household together.”

Tina Turner adopted Ike Sr.’s two sons, Ike Jr. and Michael Turner, from his previous relationship with Lorraine Taylor. The couple later welcomed a child together, Ronnie Turner, and then Tina also had a son named Craig with her musician Raymond Hill.
The Turner family has endured a series of devastating losses over the years. Tina Turner died in May 2023 at age 83 after a long illness. Ike Sr. passed away in December 2007 from a cocaine overdose at age 76. Ronnie died from colon cancer in 2022, and Craig died by suicide in 2018.
In the statement, Bullock also paid tribute to Ike Jr.’s lifelong dedication to music.
“As the son of Tina and Ike Turner, from an early age, his talents were evident — there wasn’t an instrument he didn’t want to play,” she said. “He started with drums, but after his mother made him break down his kit after every practice, he switched to keys.”

In time, Ike Jr. became deeply involved in his father’s studio, Bolic Sound Studios, in Los Angeles. He worked as a musician, sound engineer, and producer, earning a Grammy Award in 2007 for Best Traditional Blues Album for his father’s Risin’ With the Blues.
Bullock concluded her tribute by expressing gratitude for the “outpouring of condolences” received by the Turner family, saying the love shown by fans “means more than words can express.”
