The ongoing saga surrounding the stabbing and subsequent arrest of FOX Sports NFL Analyst Mark Sanchez forced the media station to quickly change gears when it came to Sunday’s broadcast of the Raiders-Colts game.
FOX apparently turned to its college football personnel to fill the void, and former Notre Dame and Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn answered the call.
With Chris Myers handling the introduction, Quinn was introduced as ‘stepping in for’ Sanchez before Myers extended thoughts and prayers to Mark and others impacted by the situation.

While details of the incident are still largely unknown, the Indianapolis Police did arrest Sanchez on accounts of public intoxication, battery with injury and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle.
He has since been charged with 3 misdemeanors with an initial hearing scheduled for Tuesday. The understanding is that the conflict occurred as result of an argument between Sanchez and an older individual.
“This incident should never have happened,” Marion County prosecutor Ryan Mears said in a statement Sunday. “What began as a disagreement between a 38-year-old former professional athlete and a 69-year-old man should not have escalated into violence or left anyone seriously injured. As with any case, we will follow the facts and the law wherever they lead.”
