He publicized the announcement on social media, writing:

I am very honored and excited to announce my commitment to the admissions process at Brown University! Huge thank you to Coach David, Coach Jake, Coach Rich, and the rest of my SRVA swimming family for 12 years of support. I would also like to thank my family for their endless encouragement. Bhatia is a versatile swimmer who specializes in middle distance freestyle, breaststroke, and IM. His first target meet of the 2024-25 season was the OR THSC Tualatin Hills Holiday Classic, held in early December. He posted several best times throughout the weekend, including a then-PB 4:34.84 in the 500 free and 2:02.86 in the 200 breast, both of which earned him gold medals. He was the runner-up in the 400 IM in 3:57.86, a lifetime best at the time, and hit the wall seventh in the 200 free with a 1:42.94 PB.

After qualifying second in the 200 IM prelims with a lifetime best of 1:52.94 and fifth in the 100 free with a personal best of 48.24, he opted not to swim in either final.

A few weeks after the THSC meet, he swam at Winter Junior Championships, where he focused on breast and IM. He touched the wall 63rd in the 400 IM at 4:01.69, 89th in the 200 breast in 2:05.74, and 107th in the 100 breast with a new lifetime best of 58.15.

His two target meets of the high school season were the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) North Coast Sectional Championships and the CIF State Championships, both held in early May.

At Sectionals, Bhatia produced a pair of top eight finishes in his individual events, logging best times of 1:40.85 and 4:30.93 in the 200 and 500 free, placing seventh in the former and eighth in the latter. He also participated on the 12th-place 400 free relay, where he recorded a split of 49.75 in the finals after leading off the relay in prelims with a best time of 47.70.

He only swam the 500 free at the State meet, where he sliced a few tenths off his sectional time to take 13th in 4:30.45.

He closed out his short course season at the Pacific Swimming Senior Post NCS meet at the beginning of May, where he chopped a few tenths off his 400 IM mark from the THSC meet, swimming 3:57.30.

    Top SCY Times:

    200 Freestyle: 1:40.85 500 Freestyle: 4:30.45 100 Breaststroke: 58.15 200 Breaststroke: 2:02.86 200 IM: 1:52.94 400 IM: 3:57.30

Brown, led by head coach Kevin Norman, finished fourth out of eighth teams at the 2025 Ivy League Championships, matching their finish from both 2023 and 2024.

Based on the results from the 2025 Conference Championships, Bhatia would have landed in the ‘C’ final in the 200 free and 400 IM, setting him up to be an immediate scoring threat. It took times of 57.16 and 1:59.49 to earn second swims in the breaststrokes, while 1:47.49 and 4:25.44 were needed in the 200 IM and 500 free.

On the team itself, Bhatia would have ranked seventh in the 500 free, eighth in the 200 breast, ninth in the 200 IM, 10th in the 400 IM and 100 breast, and 11th in the 200 free for the 2024-25 season.

Set to join Bhatia in Brown’s class of 2030 so far are Reed Harris, Avi Stahl, Myles Koff, Aaron Bell, Jack Ketchum, Noah Chen, and Kian Olsson.
