Anna VanDyken of Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics and Zeeland High School has verbally committed to Saginaw Valley State University for the fall of 2026.

VanDyken notched a trio of best times at the MI MLA ULTRA Championships (SCY) in March of 2024. There, she nabbed best times in the 50 freestyle (25.68), 100 free (55.37), and 500 free (5:16.42).
She also holds a respectable 200 free best of 1:58.06 from the Hudsonville Dualpaloza last October, and other PBs of 11:39.99 in the 1000 free and 19:10.04 in the 1650 free from this past May.
As a junior at Zeeland High School, VanDyken finished 22nd in the 500 free, swimming a season best 5:17.67, and 34th in the 200 free in 2:00.40 at the MHSAA Girls Division 1 State Swimming Championship. She anchored the 10th-place finishing 200 free relay in 25.02, and was the third leg of the 4th-place 400 free relay squad, splitting 54.74.
VanDyken was also named a member of the 2024 All-State swim team as a part of Zeeland’s 400 free relay team. She is also a member of the Zeeland dance team.

50 Free: 25.68 100 Free: 55.37 200 Free: 1:58.06 500 Free: 5:16.42 1000 Free: 11:39.99 1650 Free: 19:10.04Saginaw Valley State is a Division II program that competes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference. The SVSU women finished 5th last season at the GLIAC Swimming and Diving Championships.
Based on VanDyken’s best times, she would have placed 18th in the 100 free, 20th in the 200 free, and 18th in the 500 free at those championships.
VanDyken will fit in well with the program; her best times would have ranked her 7th in the 100 free, 5th in the 200 free, and 7th in the 500 free on the SVSU roster from a season ago.
VanDyken joins Izzie VanDuyn, Hailey Stotko, Valentina Plaza, Marlene Lehmann, and Martha Ricketts in SVSU’s 206 recruiting class.
