A WOMAN has been shot by US Border Patrol agents in Chicago as anti-ICE protests escalate and tensions rise.

The Department of Homeland Security said that ‘defensive shots’ were fired on Saturday morning in Brighton Park after agents were “rammed by 10 cars” and “boxed in”.

    Spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said patrolling agents opened fire when they found a woman driving one of the vehicles was “armed with a semi-automatic weapon”.

    She was taken to hospital for treatment and no members of law enforcement were harmed, DHS said.
